Female Reproductive System Diseases and Treatment

These are few problems that the female reproductive system faces.

Endometriosis

Endometrium is the scientific term given to the muscle lining over the ovary and the uterus which is built up for the placenta to come and attach up. It grows during the menstruation cycle and is destroyed during the times of periods.

Endometriosis is that specific situation where this endometrial tissue develops either in different parts of the genitalia, like the pelvis and the lower back or generates in different layers over the same organ making it difficult to slaughter. This extra deposition can be over the ovary or near the fallopian tubes stopping the course of release of ovum. If it grows over different parts than the regular, then it causes a lot of pain in those regions during the PMS time. The ovaries, fallopian tubes and the outside of the uterus are common sites affected by endometriosis. The endometrial tissue in these locations undergoes the same growth as the endometrial lining of the womb.

This generally might not have any symptoms if it is of the extra generation in the various places except the pain that many women complain of during the menstrual cycle. But if it if growing in various layers, then it might cause some severe problems like irregularity of periods and extra flabbiness of the abdomen muscles. It can at a later stage of life also result in severe long term problems which can go to the extent of infertility and endometrial cancer.

For prevention and cure, a person should keep working out and exercising the muscles of the abdomen region. Also a doctor should be consulted on finding out the symptoms. Some medication and oral hormones might help the cause.

Pelvic Inflammatory Disease

Pelvic inflammatory disease or PID is an infection of the female genitalia. Although it is easier for the men genitalia to get infected easily; the extra sensitivity of women makes them an easy target for micro organisms to attack. Until the micro organisms stay in the external area it is not so serious but once they enter the internal system the wreck havoc. They can infect up to such a level that inflammation and scarring of the tubes can lead to infertility. The scarred and infected tubes also run a severely high risk of an ectopic pregnancy.

The dangerous point about this is that there are absolutely no symptoms and no cure. It has only prevention that contain to remain clean.

Prolapsed uterus

Uterus and vagina are almost connected. Uterus is also important as it is the place of formation of the amalgamation of genes into a human. The uterus can be imagined as a propped up balloon that is propped up with the help of certain ligaments. A very rare yet not unheard happening is the collapse of uterus due to the breakage or failure of the ligaments. This, if happened can cause not just severe fertility related issues but also a problem of hernia which is very common in older people.
