Common pregnancy problems and solutions

It is said that the best time of a lady’s life is when she becomes a mother. Truly, the feeling of a lump of mass getting a human life and form inside your own body is something so exotic. But this road is full of thorns. A lady faces excruciating pains and a lot of problems on the way to give life to another of the same species. Some of the problems are listed below.

  1. Skin issues

Oily bad skin is nothing but the projection of pimples on your face. This is caused due to the excess secretion of Progesterone that causes oil glands under the skin to over secrete that leads to pimple and marks breaking out. The spots, acnes or pimples will appear on all the oily regions.

They would clear off as the pregnancy progresses but meanwhile try these steps-

  1. Bathe regularly and possibly with some antiseptic solution.
  2. Avoid all oily lotions and creams as they would attract a lot of dust.
  3. Clean your face at least twice with a good cleanser.

Otherwise, some women also face dry and itchy skin. This can be due to stretching of skins over the abdomen and legs.

The skin near the abdomen also faces a lot of problems due to the stretch marks that are developed in the later months of pregnancy. They leave lasting scars as this is because of the elasticity of stomach skin loosens and inner layers start tearing.

These can not be completely avoided but can be evaded by following-

  1. Try gaining weight slowly.
  2. Different supportive undergarments are available in the market.
  3. Keep the skin well moisturised.

Stretch marks fade to nothingness over time but they can’t be avoided all together.

  1. Heartburn:

Add to this the phenomenon of morning sickness, this becomes one of the very common and disastrous problems faced by the mother to be .The hormonal changes and ever growing stomach size induces this problem and the gastric problem due to less movement during the last few months accentuates it.

Although it is not general, it can occur at a wider level. Here are a few methods of relief:

a) Eat small and frequent meals.

b) Stay away from greasy or fried food, fizz, cola and caffeine.

c) Eat slowly while chewing thoroughly.

d) Take breaks between sleeping and consuming meals.

e) Try regular dose of antacid if the problem persists. But do so only after checking with your physician.

  1. Frequent urination

This again is something that not all but most women face. A hormone called HCG is responsible for increasing urination which sadly enough is a pregnancy hormone too. Add to it the pressure the growing uterus puts on your bladder.

Here are some tips that can be helpful-

  1. Try eating solid food and not something too fluid during evening or before bedtime.
  2. Don’t avoid bathrooms when you have to go.
  3. Lean forward while urinating to help the bladder empty more.
