Improving Her Reproductive Health

Every year thousands of women face unwanted complications due to the mere fact that their reproductive health isn’t up to the mark. Reproductive System is the most fragile part of our body and in females it’s even more so. Injuries affect it severely while malnutrition and health problems which may seem unrelated to it also cause problems.

A good reproductive health is very necessary for a healthy living, easy child birth and prevention of STDs (Sexually Transmitted Diseases) and STIs(Sexually Transmitted Infections). What we need to ensure in order to improve the female reproductive health is that every person should be well aware of their sexual health, every birth should be safe and women must be treated with respect.

The most common problems may become totally havoc causing if proper awareness is a want unfulfilled among women. Some simple steps can help us easily in this.

1. Generating Awareness:

Awareness generation is the most important point which must be taken under consideration. Sex education isn’t something to be shy of, it is in fact very necessary and helps the young persons a great deal.

It helps in prevention of unwanted pregnancies, transmission of STDs and STIs etc. A woman aware of her rights is more confident in opposing any unfair treatment done to her. Most women in rural areas are often under heavy duress for procreation which greatly detriorates their reproductive health.

Awareness generation will help in curbing all these.

2. Maintain a healthy body!

Regular exercises are very necessary for good condition of your body. Take a balanced diet and good amount of water. This helps in preventing anxiety and thus prevents stress on the reproductive organs.

The reproductive system is very delicate. It must be preserved from injuries and infections.

Doing Yoga is a very good option. It not only refreshes mind but also certain yoga-aasans like dhanuraasan improve the blood flow to the reproductory organs. Yoga is also known to stimulate ovulation.

3. Be hygienic:

Hygiene is a must for improving the health of your reproductive system.

During periods, the reproductive system as well as the whole female body is generally at its most fragile condition. Special attention should be paid to the reproductive system then. Sanitary pads used should be changed regularly. Care should be taken that these are of good quality and do not cause rashes in the intimate parts.

3. Smoking and Alcohol Consumption:

Smoking is a danger to all over health. It inhibits release of oestrogen. This in turn messes with the ovulations. As a result the menstrual cycles are disturbed posing a threat to the health of the reproductive system.

Miscarriages are also seen due to smoking and the foetus is also prone to genetic abnormalities.

Alcohol consumption in very limited amount is good but large amounts result in problems. Alcohol is a depressant and its consumption slows down the reflexes of the reproductory system. This may make the experience of intercourse a painful one and may also result in injury to the organs.

It also leads to abnormal development of endometrial lining.

The consumption of alcohol must be limited to a negligible level and smoking should be solely laid off.

4. Weight Control:

It is very necessary to maintain an adequate weight for the improvement of the female reproductive system.

Over weight and underweight are both not good options.

5. Beverage and junk food consumption should also be kept to the minimum. A balanced diet is very necessary. Obesity and malnutrition are both very bad conditions for improving the female reproductive health.

6. Too tight clothing also isn’t good for the reproductive system. It leads to less blood supply to them which has a negative impact on their health. Use of clean underwear is very vital.

7. Being Safe!

Regular consultation to gynaecologists is highly recommended.

Some STD’s and STI’s are very sleuth in their approach and do not show symptoms till it’s very late. What you need to do is have a monthly check up at the least.

If you have the slightest indication of any STD or any other problem related to the reproductory part, go to a doctor immediately. If left untreated these diseases lead to inflammation in the pelvis and also scaring of the fallopian tube. Hesitancy would get you nowhere, but doctor’s advice would.

Improving the female reproductive health is very necessary for the overall healthy and happy life of any woman!
